WOODEN SURFBOARD ENTHUSIASTS GET BACK TO BASICS

If you drove past Currumbin Alley today, you might have felt like you travelled back in time.
More than 60 wooden boards were on display for Wooden Surfboard Day – a chance for board builders to share some tricks of the trade with other craftsmen.
Wooden surfboard enthusiasts travelled from across the east coast to share their passion.
And if you think riding wooden surfboards is outdated, these passionate boardies disagree.
“Most people here have built their own. And if you enjoy your surfing and you build your own, there’s nothing better than standing up on something you’ve built yourself.”
