In Newcastle a Requiem Eucharist was held at Christ Church Cathedral, as part of the National Day Of Remembrance for the passengers and crew aboard MH17.
Parishioners were asked to pray for the families and friends of the 298 people on board who lost their lives during the fateful flight.
