COAST IN TOP FOUR CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE HOT SPOTS
The Central Coast has one of the worst rates of cardiovascular disease in the country, according to a new snapshot released by the Heart Foundation.
The prevalence of heart disease and stroke across the region is the fourth highest in Australia, just behind the Southern Highlands, Ballarat and Weston Creek in the ACT.
Expanding waistlines are also proving to be a problem, with 35 per cent of residents considered obese.
While more than half of the local population don’t get the recommended daily dose of exercise.
