COAL ALLIANCE LAUNCHES LEGAL ACTION AGAINST WALLARAH 2

Opponents of the Wallarah 2 coal-mine have delivered on a promise to take their case to court.
The Australian Coal Alliance is launching legal action in the Land and Environment Court this week, in another bid to prevent the mine going ahead.
Alliance director Alan Hayes says the state’s Planning Minister Anthony Roberts will be among those called to give evidence.
The Planning Assessment Commission gave the $800-million thermal coal-mine the green-light back in January, after years of political to-ing and fro-ing.
