UPGRADE OF NOTORIOUS STRIP BEGINS TOMORROW

Safety will be improved along Tamworth’s Browns Lane as council begins an upgrade of the notorious strip.
Tomorrow work will begin on widening a 1.3-kilometre section between Moore Creek Road and Forest Road by 1.5 metres.
The upgrade is expected to take eight weeks to complete and will cost just shy of $900,000.
Stage two of the project will see a roundabout installed at the intersection of Browns Lane and Moore Creek Road.
Residents have long called for improvements to the roadway, following a number of accidents.
