GRANTS TO HELP COUNCILS DEAL WITH RUBBISH PROBLEMS

Greater Taree City and Great Lakes Councils will share in more than $250,000 worth of grants to help tackle rubbish and waste problems.

Taree Council has been awarded $139,000, while Great Lakes Council received $116,000, to go towards providing a second weighbridge at the Tuncurry Waste Management Centre.

Great Lakes has also received $135,125 under the ‘Better Waste Recycling Fund’, to extend the Builders Shop and construct an adjoining Men’s Shed.
