COFFS COUNCIL TO VOTE ON STAFF REDUNDANCIES

Coffs Harbour City Council is expected to vote tomorrow night on a cost cutting plan which could result in major staff redundancies.

The cuts are proposed in a Transformation to Sustainability Program to be presented to council by General Manager Steve McGrath.

The new structure proposes a return to three directors and reduces the number of group managers from 26 to 13.

Councillors say the redundancies might also apply to lower ranked staff as well.
