COUNCIL QUESTIONS IPART’S WATER PRICING

Tamworth Regional Council is making a submission to IPART questioning its inconsistent approach to bulk water pricing.
According to its draft determination regarding charges for the next four years, council’s costs are set to decrease, but irrigators will face a price hike.
“The Peel is the most expensive valley in, for bulk water in the Murray Darling Basin area, it’s more than, more than, twice as much for the Namoi.”
Mr Logan says price increases are impacting on the viability of the irrigation industry.
