WESTON SWEATING ON FITNESS OF KEY PLAYERS
In the NPL, Weston is sweating on the fitness of a few key players including Liam Thornton and keeper Tim Pratt, ahead of Sunday’s semi-final against the Jets Youth.
Robbie Turnbull rates himself as a 60 per cent chance of returning from a quad injury.
“It’s getting better, got a little bit of improvement to go but I’ll make a call tonight and see how I feel.”
The Jets have lost Nick Cowburn, while coach James Pascoe is yet to finalise replacements for Brandon Lundy and John Solari who travelled to Townsville with the A-League squad.
“Look yeah I guess it does weaken them in one sense but whether that galvanises them and push on a little further who knows. But we don’t concentrate on that, we look at what we can do, can’t control what their team’s going to be.”
