HANG GLIDING VICTIM REMEMBERED AS ‘ONE OF THE BEST’
Friends and colleagues of the man who was killed in a hang gliding accident on Bar Beach yesterday have described him as “one of the best.”
46-year-old Adam Parer was flying at 3pm when he spiraled out of control, crashed into a power line and then into a home on Memorial Drive.
Mr Parer was a firefighter at Hamilton fire station for 14 years, and a loved member of the Newcastle hang gliding community.
Those who knew him best say he was an incredibly skilled pilot, who had flown all around the world for competition.
Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
