Local hopes for a QRL premiership win have faded away this afternoon, after the Tweed Heads Seagulls were defeated by the Ipswich Jets at Piggabeen.
Ipswich advances to week two of the finals…with the side taking on the Wynnum Manly Seagulls.
The Easts Tigers sealed their win against Wynnum Manly with a late penalty goal.
Next week, they’ll go head to head with last year’s premiership winners the Northern Pride.
Meanwhile, the Tugun Seagulls will progress to week two of the Bycroft Cup finals, after knocking the Bilambil Jets out of the running today.
