TAMWORTH FC BOW OUT OF THE TITLE RACE
Tamworth FC’s Northern Inland Premier League title defence is over after falling to South Armidale in a penalty shootout at Scully Park.
The Blues opened the scoring in extra time…
But South Armidale managed to level the scores when Ben Wright found the back of the net.
The match then went to a penalty shootout.
Scorpions’ keeper Richard Morris made a vital save, sending his side through to next week’s preliminary final.
“Next week we’ve got North Companions, so we’ll be making the trip back down here. It’ll be an excellent game, another tough one in Tamworth, hot day, hot conditions. So we’re looking forward to it.”
