Returning to rugby league and the Newcastle Yowies have booked their place in the semi finals of the Koori Knockout with a 20 to 4 win over Maitland’s Mindaribba Warriors.
Surprisingly it was the Warriors who opened the scoring through hooker Darcy Ettrich.
But the class of the defending champions shone through – Newcastle Knights star Dane Gagai scoring the final try of the match.
