Newcastle’s well known Olive Tree Markets, usually held at the Junction Public School is on the move to Civic Park.
The markets will continue operating at the school in the lead up to Christmas but will move to Civic Park in Feb 2015.
Market organiser Justine Gaudry said she’d been notified that building projects at the school next year could not accommodate the markets.
The news coincided with Newcastle City Council calling for tenders to run markets in Civic Park in a bid to activate the city centre.
Olive Tree Markets was the successful tenderer.
