There’s been some dramatic scenes on Newcastle harbour this morning, with more than 1,000 people joining in a climate change protest.
Around 100 of those, including a group known as the Pacific Climate Warriors, were on the water in traditional canoes, attempting to block the shipping channel.
They managed to delay a coal ship from exiting the harbour for about half an hour.
Water police were on hand to enforce restricted zones around shipping.
