Gloucester ratepayers could be hit with a 44 percent rate rise over the next three years if the increase is approved by IPART.
Gloucester Shire Councillors have endorsed the special rate rise to help deal with a multi-million dollar infrastructure backlog.
If approved, the move will generate almost $14 million.
It’s the first time Gloucester Shire Council has ever requested a special rate variation.
