Detectives from the Firearms and Organised Crime Squad have seized more than 25 guns from a home in Maitland.
As part of an ongoing investigation, detectives searched two properties on Thursday – one on Old High Street in Maitland, the other on William Street in East Maitland.
At the William Street property, officers seized five handguns and 21 longarm firearms, a slingshot, barrel cannon and assorted ammunition while glassware consistent with those used to manufacture illicit drugs was found at the Old High Street property.
A 59-year-old East Maitland man has been charged with more than 25 offences including possession of prohibited and unregistered firearms.
He was granted bail and will appear before Maitland Local Court on Monday.
