NIAS SEEKS NEW WATER POLO TALENT

The region’s top emerging water polo talent were put through their paces today as they competed for selection in the Northern Inland Academy of Sport program.
With last year’s squad dominated by Tamworth players, Armidale and Gunnedah’s best came to the Scully Park Pool to test themselves.
Coaches say it’s important for the development of the sport in the north west, that Tamworth is pressured to remain the strongest local association.
“Now we’re looking to branch out into Armidale, Inverell, Gunnedah. Around those areas, and we’ll probably have a few training sessions and maybe run some clinics for some high schools out there too.”
