Police believe they now know the identity of a man who died, when he was hit by a car on the Pacific Highway at Coolongolook last Friday.
However, DNA tests still need to be carried out before police can reveal his name.
Last week, police issued to a public plea for help to identify the man, who had been walking along the highway when he was struck by a southbound car at around 7pm.
