Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious crash in East Tamworth last night.
Just before midnight, a green Nissan Pulsar collided with an Isuzu truck on Armidale Road.
The driver of the car, a 31-year-old man, was taken to Tamworth Base Hospital with facial and spinal injuries, while the 51-year-old truck driver escaped unhurt.
An investigation is underway into what caused the crash.
