Police are searching for two men near Rutherford who are thought to be linked to a series of alleged thefts from drug dealers across the Maitland, Rutherford and Cessnock areas.
Emergency services arrived at a home on Carr Street this morning following reports of a siege.
Special operations police gained entry to the property, but the two men weren’t inside.
Officers gathered evidence at the scene and believe the men are still in the nearby area area.
The dog squad has joined the search.
