One of the men, alleged to have been behind a series of thefts from drug dealers across the Hunter, has been charged.
Michael John Carroll was arrested late yesterday afternoon, after police found him hiding in the roof of a home at Tarro.
Earlier, heavily armed officers stormed a home in Rutherford, in the hunt for the 45-year-old and his alleged accomplice.
Carroll has been charged with aggravated break, enter and steal and will face Newcastle Local Court next month.
