MAN CHARGED AFTER ALLEGEDLY CRASHING STOLEN CAR
A Toronto man will face court today on 11 charges, after crashing a stolen car near Newcastle yesterday.
Police were called to Cardiff at around 6:30am after a Ford Falcon utility was stolen.
They located the vehicle in Wallsend and began a pursuit, but it was terminated a short time later.
The ute came to a stop in Cardiff at the intersection of Main Road and Harrison Street, after the driver allegedly lost control, hitting several cars and a pedestrian who was getting into a taxi.
The pedestrian was taken to John Hunter Hospital with minor injuries.
The 25-year-old driver of the ute has been charged with several offences including aggravated break, enter and steal and negligent driving.
