A bill, which would make it legal for people suffering epilepsy to use medicinal cannabis, will be introduced in state parliament this week.
The Greens are behind the push, which has the support of the Tamworth family at the centre of the fight to legalise medicinal cannabis for terminally ill patients.
Meanwhile Premier Mike Baird will open the inaugural Australian Medicinal Cannabis Symposium in Tamworth on Friday.
