Forster has been identified as one of several New South Wales towns, that lack the appropriate crisis services for women escaping domestic violence.
The Save Our Women’s Services group, has listed eight hotspots in desperate need of their own women’s refuges.
Forster has been singled out because the closest shelter is around half an hour away.
Campaigners want the state government to establish a refuge in the town, so women have a safe place to stay.
