RUN NEWCASTLE RAISES $140,000 FOR JOHN HUNTER CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

The second ‘running’ of Run Newcastle today raised more than $140,000 for the John Hunter Children’s Hospital.
More than 3,000 people gathered at the foreshore for either a six or 12 kilometre jog.
Fresh from winning the New York Marathon, Kurt Fearnley raced in the wheelchair event.
The funds will go towards the adolescent ward of the hospital, with construction of the patient rooms to take place next year.
Feedback on the designs is currently being sought from patients and their families.
