A planned $1-million dollar upgrade of the Forster Surf Club is a step closer, with the project receiving a $300,000 state government grant.
The ageing building desperately needs to be renovated, with the training area and catering facilities now outdated and considered too small for the club’s growing membership.
Work is still a way off, with money yet to be secured for the remaining building costs.
