The month of May next year will be a competitive one for the boating industry, as all three of the Gold Coast’s boat shows open their doors to visitors simultaneously.
The Gold Coast International Marine Expo has moved its showcase from September, lining up with the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show and the Riviera Festival of Boating.
There are concerns the move will have all the shows struggling to bring in visitors.
Some industry experts say all three should merge to create the biggest boat show in the southern hemisphere.
