GUNNEDAH $200-MILLION SOLAR FARM APPROVED

The Independent Planning Commission has approved a
$200-million solar farm, near Gunnedah.
The commission decided to give the project the go-ahead, despite more than 25 objections from nearby residents – panellists finding it met the necessary planning requirements.
The decision follows a public meeting late last year, during which residents raised concerns about flood risks, heavy vehicle movements, and the impact on property prices and visual amenity.
