A man has been arrested in relation to a shooting which has left a woman critically injured on the Central Coast tonight.
About 6pm, police from Brisbane Water Local Area Command were called to a house on Huntly Road at Bensville after reports of a shooting.
A woman was found inside the house suffering a gun shot wound to her neck.
She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Gosford Hospital.
The woman, aged in her 30s, is reported to be in a critical condition.
A short time after the shooting, police stopped a car on Empire Bay Drive and arrested the driver.
The man has been taken Gosford Police Station and will be spoken with by detectives.
Investigators and forensic officers remain at the house where a crime scene has been established.
