MORE FUNDING FOR WATER INFRASTRUCTURE

Due to the severity of drought in New South Wales, an additional $20 million has been put on the table as part of the state government’s Emergency Water Infrastructure Rebate scheme.
A 50 per cent rebate on water and dam infrastructure will be based on a one in 50 year event.
And rather than an entire shire being assessed, a single property can now be considered.
“We were out visiting a farm in Walgett and we were able to see that that land holder with the water and the assistance that they’d got from the previous round, was able to actually open up a whole quarter of their property, with the tanks, troughs and piping.”
Property owners will have access to maps to determine whether they’re eligible in coming weeks.
