JET SKI EXPLOSION SETS TONGUES WAGING

Questions are being asked, about the quality of a Chinese made jet-ski, after it exploded on the Nerang River at Broadbeach Waters yesterday.
The fully fuelled jet-ski, became engulfed in flames, throwing two teenagers into the air.
Luckily they weren’t injured, but it’s prompted warnings to check equipment.
“Do your home work. look at what these skis do and can do, and just make sure you buy the right product.”
The owners of the jet ski are considering legal action.
Fire Investigators and Marine Safety are yet to determine what caused the explosion.

I noticed this story went quiet.
Was it a “cheapo” jetski or was it user error?
Who’s gunna tell us。
This is not a chinese made ski to start with, this is a Kawaski very well know brand, but if you search the net you will find that all famous brand skis on the market have at some time or the other exploded
All good
I think it is a shame that people do not report items correctly, what more alarming is they have interviewed a so call specialis, and he did not correct the issue. I agree with Mark, if you research the Internet, you can find stories on all brands that have caught fire or exploded, but as a marine engineer, you would think that Jet ski, like boats should be fitted with a extraction fan to exhaust these fumes
