The Tingha Tigers have turned to a local league legend to guide the side this season, with Nathan Blacklock named coach.
The former State of Origin representative will return to his hometown after leading the Tigers to grand final glory back in 2009.
It’s hoped his presence will stem a player exodus, which saw last year’s captain-coach Guy Mepham sign with rivals Inverell.
The Tigers are hosting a registration day at Tingha’s Sport and Recreation Club on Sunday.
