OPERATION BEGINS TO RECOVER COAL WAGONS
The Australian Rail Track Corporation has begun removing 19 coal wagons which derailed in the state’s North West yesterday.
Heavy cranes are expected on site today to recover the wagons, which came off the tracks at Kankool, between Ardglen and Willow Tree, at around 5am.
The ARTC says it will also begin planning to rectify the track, which it expects to reopen late Friday.
Buses have replaced trains for Armidale and Moree XPLORER passengers between Werris Creek and Muswellbrook.
