OPERATION SEIZURE CONTINUES IN NEW ENGLAND REGION

New England police have located nearly 170 cannabis plants with a street value of $420,000 as part of ‘Operation Seizure’.
Calls from the community led the rural crime unit to a number of National Parks near Armidale and Glen Innes.
The latest find occurred during the weekend, when 141 plants were located at the Barool Stock Route, east of Glen Innes.
Inspector Anne Joy says above average rainfall has contributed to the amount of cannabis grown at this time of year.
Anyone with information relating to the illegal crops are urged to contact Armidale police.
