PUSH CONTINUES FOR NEW POLICE STATION IN GUNNEDAH
The push for a new police station in Gunnedah is gaining momentum
Today a group of auditors from the New South Wales police force inspected the ageing facility to determine what upgrades are needed and how much it will cost.
“We’re having trouble attracting police to regional New South Wales so what we’ve got to do is provide the facilities. So with an upgraded police station, then that’s a good incentive to get people to come to Gunnedah.”
It’s hoped an updated facility will boost police numbers in the bush.
The Member for Tamworth will present the final costings and a petition with hundreds of signatures to Police Minister Stuart Ayres in the coming weeks.
