WEATHER: STILL VERY DRY INLAND
The weekend deluge has helped ease conditions across the Clarence Valley and around Casino in the Northern Rivers after a prolonged dry spell.
The excessive rain in south east Queensland may trigger a Ross River outbreak with mosquito numbers expected to swell, but the inland areas of the North West remain very dry.
They received some good rain at the beginning of the year, which helped increase top soil moisture, but sub soil remained dry.
There is a little rain on the way for the North West for the second half of the week.
The coast will see more showers and high humidity levels thanks to the consistent onshore winds.
