WOMAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER
A 21-year-old woman has been charged with the attempted murder of a South Murwillumbah man last year.
On April 7, emergency services were called to a home on Quarry Road where they found 46-year-old resident Michael Martin with multiple stab wounds.
Another 49-year-old man was also seriously injured, but both men recovered in hospital.
Meanwhile Mr Martin’s house was again broken into in June.
He suffered fatal head injuries and died at the scene.
Following an 11-month investigation, detectives arrested a woman at Silverwater yesterday.
Police allege she, along with two other people, stabbed Mr Martin and accepted payment to kill him during the first break and enter.
They don’t believe she was present during the second incident.
Investigations are continuing.
