Gosford Mayor Lawrie McKinna has called on the state government to give the region its fair share of roads funding.
Council has compiled a list of 200 roads that it can’t afford to repair.
It’s hoped it’ll prompt a few election promises, ahead of next month’s poll.
“We got $12,000 per kilometre from the state government, wheras some of the Hunter Councils get $20,000 per kilometre, Wyong actually gets about $16,000 per kilometre, so every year we fall behind about a $1 million.”
Meanwhile the Mayor has welcomed news that planning is underway on a 65-space carpark on Mann Street.
“The upgrades to the hospital happen next year, it’s just going to congest that area, and with Gosford Primary School and Gosford High School, Henry Kendall and the major issues up that end of town.”
