Lake Macquarie will meet Merewether in Hunter rugby’s preliminary final, after upsetting Southern Beaches today in the minor semi.
Both sides converted early penalty goals – before Roos fly-half Brendon Holiday set up Dave Alo for the opener.
Beaches hit back through the quick feet of Corey Nash and it was 10-all at the break.
But it was Lake Maquarie’s day – burly prop John Taffaao sealing the 20-10 win.
