Friends and family of Margaret Ilukol gathered at Newcastle’s Christ Church Cathedral today, to farewell the inspirational woman.
Ms Ilukol survived a Hyena attack as a child in Uganda, and was brought to Newcastle by local Rotarians for further facial surgeries.
Once in the Hunter, she sat her HSC, before going in to nursing.
Ms Ilukol died at her home, in Cooks Hill.
