FLYING FOX COLONY GROWING AT EAST CESSNOCK
A colony of almost 10,000 flying foxes is causing headaches for some residents in East Cessnock.
Following complaints about noise and odour, as well as the growth of the population, council has moved to write to the state government.
It says its role in managing the site is limited, because of the location of the colony – on a Crown Land Reserve next to East Cessnock Public School.
Council hopes to assist in developing a plan of management.
