Newcastle’s Mata’utia brothers – Sione, Chanel and Pat – are considered three of the most promising players in rugby league, and today the Knights wrapped them up for a further three years.
Despite being targeted by the Bulldogs, the prospect of playing together close to home, proved too good to pass up.

Mitchell Hughes started as a tape editor in Newcastle in 1999. He became a reporter in 2004, working in Lismore and on the Gold Coast.
