Cancer experts from around the world are in Newcastle this week, to collaborate and discuss research breakthroughs.
Two new clinical trials, run by the Trans Tasman Radiation Oncology Group, were unveiled.
Both use ground-breaking radiotherapy techniques to target tumours, reducing treatment time and side-effects.
“We also look to the future because clinical trials can take a number of years so we have to be future planning.”
