MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER OF FOOTBALLER
A man has been charged with murder over the death of a Central Coast football player on Easter Sunday.
Greg Gibbons left the Beachcomber Hotel at Toukley at around midnight and went to a nearby pizza shop.
The 28-year-old, who played with the Wyong Roos Rugby League Club, was stabbed in the chest outside the eatery.
He went into cardiac arrest and died in hospital.
A 25-year-old man also suffered stab wounds and is undergoing surgery.
A 20-year-old man was arrested in Halekulani last night and charged with murder.
He’ll appear before Wyong Local Court today.
