Over 6000 young people with a disability are forced to live in nursing homes across the country.
Today a special digital exhibition opened at Newcastle Museum, telling the stories of 19 individuals in that very situation.
One of those, James Nutt, who acquired a brain injury after being assaulted when he was 19.
He spent almost seven years in aged care.
The display will be on show until May 10.
