WYONG COUNCIL SCRAPS PROCESS FOR CUTTING-DOWN TREES

Wyong Shire Council will tonight approve a resolution that allows homeowners to cut down trees on their property without council approval.

The legislation applies to properties that cover less than 1500 square metres of land, and doesn’t include endangered trees.

If properties are larger, the trees must be within 12 metres of the home.

The issue has been fast-tracked as the region continues to clean up from last week’s storm.
