A truck driver had a lucky escape on Wednesday night, after the wheels on the heavy vehicle he was driving caught alight on the Oxley Highway.
The 38-year-old Hurstville man was driving east at around 6-o’clock, when he saw smoke coming from his back tyres.
He was taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital with minor burns and smoke inhalation.
Police are investigating what caused the blaze.
