Death is a topic many of us don’t feel comfortable discussing, but after losing his father to cancer, one Lake Macquarie man is speaking out.
He’s joined forces with the Cancer Council to call on the Baird Government to address a shortage in palliative care physicians.

My son passed on 17th jan this year,his wish was to die at home,he was 26yrs old,he has a wife and 4 children under 8,palliative care sent a nurse to put in a sub cut line n portion out drugs,his wife n I nursed Sean,after Sean passed the nurse came back for the paperwork and told the wife to dispose of remaining drugs….there was enough medazolam and morphine to take the lot if she had bern so inclined.i come from victoria and have a nursing background…..i am horrified at the level of non care here.
