TURF STOLEN FROM NEW LISAROW SPORTING PRECINCT
Less than a month after it was opened to the public, Lisarow’s $5-million sporting complex has been forced to close after a patch of the ground’s synthetic turf was stolen.
The missing patch of turf means that the ground’s junior AFL and oz-tag teams now have no where to play.
“The big thing is, why would you flog a bit of astro-turf, 5 metres by 3 metres, unless you’ve got a small front garden. That’s the only thing I can think of. It’s stupidity come to its best.”
Council says it may be up to six weeks before the turf can be replaced.
